COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF EFFICIENCY OF AODV, DSR AND WRP ROUTING PROTOCOLS IN AD-HOC NETWORKS

Alakbar A. Aliyev, Babak G. Abbasov, Ahad A. Mammadov

Routing protocols yield various outcomes in different situations. Thus far, many scholars investigated existing and recently proposed routing protocols in different environments. Due to increase in the amount of mobile devices and access points, the routing protocols have undergone the performance degradation. The paper analyzes and evaluates three routing protocols based on the node density and node mobility. According to the analysis results, DSR (Dynamic Source Routing) protocol has demonstrated better performance in some cases and values. However, AODV (Ad-hoc On-Demand Distance Vector) routing protocol demonstrated overall better performance than others. (pp. 25-33)

Keywords: Ad-hoc networks, AODV protocol, DSR protocol, WRP protocol, node density parameters.
